Campaign tags
Group related campaigns with free-form tags and slice reports by them.
What tags are for
Tags are short lowercase labels you attach to a campaign — for example holiday, winback, or vip. Their job is to make it easy to group related campaigns and to pull reporting numbers across a whole group rather than one campaign at a time.
Tags don't affect how a campaign is sent. They're purely for organisation and analytics.
Adding and editing tags
- In the wizard. When you create or edit a campaign, the Tags field sits right below the campaign name. Type a word and press Enter (or a comma) to commit. Backspace removes the last chip.
- On the campaign detail page. The Overview tab has a Tags row at the top. Edits save automatically — you'll see a small Saving… indicator that flips to Saved with a timestamp once the change lands. There's no Save button.
You can edit tags on any campaign except ones that are archived or cancelled. That means tags can still be adjusted on an already-completed campaign, which is useful when you realise after the fact that a campaign belongs in a particular tag group.
Filtering campaigns by tag
On the campaign list, click the Tags button next to the type filter. Pick one or more tags and click Done. The list narrows to campaigns that have all of the selected tags — picking more tags refines, not broadens.
Tag suggestions in the popover are scoped to your brand, so you only see tags actually in use on your own campaigns. The number next to each tag is how many campaigns currently carry that tag.
Tag filter on Analytics
On the Analytics page (sidebar → Analytics), leave the campaign selector on All Campaigns and use the Tags button to pick one or more tags. Every metric on the page — Sent, Delivered, opt-out rate, the trend chart — rolls up across the matching campaigns. The CSV export respects the filter, too.
If you select a specific campaign instead, the tag filter is hidden (it'd be redundant) and the campaign's own tag chips show next to its name.
Tips
- Pick tag names you'll still recognise in six months. q2_winback ages better than this_one.
- Consistency wins — the suggestions popover exists so you don't end up with both winback and win-back across different campaigns.
- Tags are a flat list — there's no hierarchy. If you need structure, use prefixes like region_us / region_ca.
